  4. charcoal. He employed the cheaper iron to 
  5. cast strong thin pots for domestic use as 
  6. well as the huge cylinders required by the 
  7. new steam pumping-engines. In 1779 his 
  8. grandson (also Abraham) constructed the 
  9. world's first iron bridge, over the river 
  10. Severn at Coalbrookdale.
